A pair of young North Koreans twisted and twirled through the air on their way to the country’s first-ever Olympic medal in diving on Wednesday, taking silver in the women’s synchronized 10-meter platform event.

Jo Jin Mi and Kim Mi Rae scored 315.90 points across five dives at the Olympic Aquatics Centre to claim the DPRK’s second medal of the Paris Summer Games.

But they fell far short of China’s Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan, who ran away with the gold with 359.10 points. Great Britain came in third with 304.38 points.
