The South Korean military conducted live-fire artillery drills near the inter-Korean land border for the first time in six years on Tuesday, following Seoul's suspension of a military deal with North Korea that prohibited such drills last month.
“The focus of the drills is enhancing response capabilities and firepower readiness in the event of enemy provocations,” the ROK army stated in a press release on Tuesday.
