Unification ministry plans to meet with groups sending leaflets into North Korea

Meetings come as DPRK trash balloons raise tensions, but prominent defector activists say they have no interest in talks

South Korea’s unification ministry plans to meet with organizations involved in sending leaflets into North Korea in the near future, after the DPRK launched thousands of trash balloons over the border in retaliation for such anti-regime leafleting.

The ministry told NK News on Tuesday that the meetings will mark a continuation of long-running communication with such groups, without specifying what it would discuss with the activists.
