South Korea plans to fully suspend an inter-Korean military agreement “until mutual trust” with North Korea is restored, responding to Pyongyang’s launch of around a thousand balloons carrying trash and feces across the border.
The presidential office announced in a press release on Monday that the National Security Council (NSC) has proposed the suspension of the entirety of the Comprehensive Military Agreement (CMA) and will discuss the proposal at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, a day after Seoul raised the possibility of resuming propaganda loudspeaker broadcasts into the DPRK.
