Putin to visit North Korea from Tuesday for summit with Kim Jong Un: Kremlin

Russian leader’s first trip to country in 20 years comes amid global scrutiny of DPRK arms shipments for use in Ukraine

Russian leader Vladimir Putin will visit Pyongyang from June 18-19 for a summit with his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong Un, the Kremlin announced on Monday, marking his first trip to the country in two decades as the allies ramp up military cooperation over the war in Ukraine.

The Kremlin said it will be a “friendly state visit” at Kim’s invitation.
