North Koreans vow to ‘annihilate’ America at anti-US rallies across country

State media reports 100K citizens attended event in Pyongyang, as DPRK kicks off month of propaganda against US and ROK

North Korea held anti-American rallies across the country to mark the 74th anniversary of the start of the Korean War on Tuesday, according to state media, with citizens swearing to “annihilate the U.S. imperialists and the ROK puppets” during the annual gatherings that reinforce state narratives about the war.

The country’s Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that 100,000 Pyongyang citizens, including officials, workers and students, gathered at the May Day Stadium on June 25 to commemorate the start of the Korean War, which North Korea falsely claims began when the U.S. invaded.
