The North Korean military “encroached” on the land border that divides the two Koreas earlier this week but “immediately” retreated after ROK forces broadcast warnings and fired warning shots, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) announced Tuesday.
The incident at the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) occurred the same day that South Korea conducted propaganda loudspeaker broadcasts at the border for the first time in six years, following North Korea’s trash balloon launches into the ROK in recent weeks.
