US says it confirmed Russia used North Korean ballistic missiles against Ukraine

Defense Intelligence Agency lays out evidence recovered debris came from Hwasong-11, finding clear visual match

The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has confirmed that Russia used North Korean ballistic missiles against targets in Ukraine, according to a new report, laying out the evidence that recovered projectile debris came from a Hwasong-11 missile.

The agency’s military analysts concluded that “the debris found in Kharkiv on Jan. 2, 2024 is missile debris from a DPRK short-range missile,” the DIA announced in a related press release on Wednesday, adding to a chorus of expert voices that have reached the same conclusion.
