North Korean leader Kim Jong Un led the funeral for high-ranking official Kim Ki Nam on Thursday, according to state media. Kim Ki Nam was the chief propagandist for three generations of Kim family rulers and the architect of official state narratives around two leadership successions. He passed away on Tuesday at the age of 94.
At the funeral, Kim Jong Un emphasized that those who contribute to the development of the nation can “be immortalized” in a likely effort to encourage current officials to remain loyal to the regime.
