North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the construction site for the latest 10,000-apartment project in Pyongyang over the weekend, according to state media, revealing expansive plans for additional housing and office projects for the first time.
His inspection of the second stage of the Hwasong Street project in the northeast of the capital came ahead of the ruling party’s April 15 deadline for its opening. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday that it was “nearing completion” but without reiterating the deadline.
