Zhao will attend the opening ceremony for the “China-DPRK Friendship Year” during his visit from Thursday to Saturday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said in a statement. North Korean state television also announced the visit in a rare 4 p.m. bulletin, emphasizing the importance of the 75th anniversary of bilateral ties this year and revealing a new logo to celebrate the anniversary. China’s third highest-ranked official to visit North Korea this week

China’s third highest-ranked official Zhao Leji will lead a political delegation to North Korea this week, the two countries announced Tuesday afternoon.

Zhao will attend the opening ceremony for the “China-DPRK Friendship Year” during his visit from Thursday to Saturday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said in a statement.

North Korean state television also announced the visit in a rare 4 p.m. bulletin, emphasizing the importance of the 75th anniversary of bilateral ties this year and revealing a new logo to celebrate the anniversary.
