North Korea will “reject any and all” contacts with Tokyo going forward, the leader’s sister Kim Yo Jong said Tuesday, a month after floating the possibility of a bilateral summit and a day after claiming Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had reached out to propose talks.
In a statement released Tuesday evening via state media, Kim said North Korea interprets Kishida’s recent diplomatic overtures for a meeting with Kim Jong Un as “politically motivated.”
