Pyongyang International Film Festival set to return after 4-year hiatus

Annual event typically open to international audiences but unclear whether regime will relent on travel controls

The 18th Pyongyang International Film Festival (PIFF) is set to go ahead this year, its sponsors told NK News, in what could mark the first return of the event since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, whether international films will be screened or foreign visitors will be able to attend remains to be seen.
