North Korea used US parts in ballistic missile Russia fired at Ukraine: Report

Researchers find DPRK also used smuggling networks to source missile components from Europe and Asia

A North Korean ballistic missile that Russia used against Ukraine last month heavily incorporated foreign-sourced parts, including from the U.S., according to a new report.

Researchers from Conflict Armament Research (CAR) found that over 75% of documented components in the DPRK missile fired at Kharkiv on Jan. 2 came from U.S. suppliers, demonstrating the DPRK’s ability to source parts in defiance of sanctions.
