North Korea has started a project to build 10,000 more homes in residential skyscrapers in the capital over the next year, according to state media, framing this as part of leader Kim Jong Un’s efforts to “deepen the people's trust” in the government.
Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday that Kim attended a large groundbreaking ceremony the previous day, alongside thousands of soldiers and other construction workers who have been ordered to build what is officially called the third stage of the Hwasong Street project.
