South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol should consider recruiting his predecessor Moon Jae-in to help engage North Korea, former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yon proposed Monday.
Lee, now head of the minor New Futures Party (NFP), also called for the Yoon administration to work toward holding an inter-Korean summit without addressing Pyongyang’s recent policy change rejecting the goal of reunification.
