North Korea fired an unidentified ballistic missile Wednesday night but the launch ended in failure, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
The JCS released a statement early Thursday morning stating the missile was launched toward the East Sea (Sea of Japan) at 11:05 p.m. KST from the Sunan area of Pyongyang, where the international airport is located. It did not say at what point the missile failed or why, adding that joint analysis with the U.S. is ongoing.
