ROK, Japan, US’ advanced assets join naval exercise to intercept DPRK weapons

USS Ronald Reagan also set to visit Busan this week, which expert says will likely elicit response from North Korea

South Korea, Japan and the U.S. conducted trilateral naval exercises off the southeast coast of Jeju on Monday and Tuesday to strengthen their ability to respond to North Korean threats, according to Seoul’s defense ministry. 

According to South Korea’s navy, the three countries trained to intercept North Korean weapons of mass destruction and improve capabilities to counter piracy at sea.
