North Korean state media has blamed Israel’s “ceaseless criminal acts” for the recent escalation of violence with Hamas, omitting any mention of the Palestinian military group’s deadly attacks on Israeli cities on Saturday.

“A large-scale armed conflict broke out between Palestine’s Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) and Israel,” official newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported Tuesday.

The daily added that the conflict has seen gunfights, thousands of rockets being fired, and “indiscriminate airstrikes,” leading to hundreds of deaths and over 1,000 people injured on both sides. The report did not specify Hamas’ activities.
