A U.S. nuclear submarine arrived at a naval base on South Korea’s southern Jeju Island on Monday to replenish supplies, according to the ROK navy, a visit that comes days after another U.S. submarine visited the peninsula in a show of force against North Korean nuclear threats.
The USS Annapolis, a Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine, is visiting Jeju for “military supplies loading purposes during an operation mission,” the navy told reporters on Monday, describing the vessel as a nuclear-powered submarine (SSN) mainly deployed for anti-ship and anti-submarine operations.
