South Korea's opposition Democratic Party (DP) has urged President Yoon Suk-yeol to withdraw his nomination of Kim Yung-ho as unification minister, stating that the nominee is “unfit” to manage relations with North Korea.
The party’s demand follows a hearing for Kim last week, at which lawmakers grilled the nominee over his calls for DPRK regime change and alleged attempts to evade taxes on earnings from his YouTube channel.
