North Korean student goes missing in Russian Far East in possible defection

NGO confirms police are searching for DPRK citizen, the third to disappear in region in last month

A North Korean student attending a college in the Russia Far East has gone missing this month, according to a Russian nongovernmental organization, in a possible defection attempt following the disappearance of two other DPRK citizens in June.

Twenty-five-year-old Kim Tae Sung disappeared on July 8 in the Russian city of Khabarovsk, according to a poster spread on Russian social media by Liga Spas, an organization that helps locate missing persons.
