The North Korean leader’s sister Kim Yo Jong slammed the U.S. on Monday for calling for dialogue while also dispatching strategic assets to the peninsula and discussing nuclear planning with South Korea, stating that even the withdrawal of American troops would not be enough to restart talks.
In the statement issued through state media, Kim warned that the DPRK has kicked off a “military offensive” in response to U.S. actions that “threaten peace,” less than a week after Pyongyang launched an intercontinental ballistic missile into the East Sea.
