South Korea has successfully recovered debris from North Korea’s failed satellite launch last month, following a two-week operation that saw the ROK compete with China to retrieve the wreckage first.
The Chollima-1 space launch vehicle (SLV) failed midflight on May 31 and splashed down into waters off South Korea’s western coast. ROK authorities initially raised part of the rocket from the ocean floor the same day, briefly snapping photos before it dropped back into the water.
