U.S. and South Korean forces kicked off their “largest-ever” joint live-fire exercises on Thursday, rolling out rocket launchers, drone swarms, tanks, fighter jets and a range of other military assets in a showcase of operations to repel and counterstrike North Korea.
The “annihilation” drills, being held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-ROK alliance and the 75th anniversary of the ROK military, commenced at Seungjin firing range in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, some 20 miles (30 km) from the Demilitarized Zone.
