ROK election body faces investigation after North Korean cyberattacks: Lawmaker

Government inquiry follows criticism that voting commission ignored warnings it was target of DPRK hackers

South Korea’s election commission has agreed to undergo an investigation into allegations that it neglected multiple security warnings about North Korean hacking attempts, a lawmaker said Tuesday.

The office of conservative lawmaker Lee Man-hee confirmed to NK News that the National Election Commission (NEC) will conduct the investigation with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and the Korea Internet and Security Agency.
