Russian Far East region says it sent nearly 3K tons of corn to North Korea

Customs data from Amur Oblast gives rare look at bilateral trade figures following reports of food shortages in DPRK

Russia has sent thousands of tons of corn to North Korea this year from the far east region of Amur, according to the Russian government.

In a press release, the Amur veterinary customs agency said it took advantage of high yields this year to export 2,800 tons of corn to the DPRK out of a total of 130,000 tons sent to six Asian countries.
