South Korea will develop new multi-billion-dollar missile interceptor systems to better counter North Korea’s evolving arsenal of nuclear-capable and ballistic projectiles, Seoul announced on Tuesday.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said Seoul has approved over $4 billion in spending for the new systems starting next year, which include long-range surface-to-air missiles (L-SAM II) and mid-range surface-to-air missiles (M-SAM) Block-III system.
