Three shipments of trucks were delivered to North Korea in May 2022 aboard a combination of DPRK and Chinese-flagged vessels, a forthcoming U.N. report shows, despite sanctions prohibiting Pyongyang from importing vehicles in place since 2017.
An unnamed U.N. member state provided satellite imagery that suggests the trucks and “other items” were brought into the country by the DPRK-flagged Kum San Bong and Kum San Bong as well as the China-flagged Peng Lu 9.
