North Korean leader Kim Jong Un opened the first stage of a 10,000-home construction project in Pyongyang’s Hwasong district on Sunday, according to state media, as the ruling party promotes a campaign to build 50,000 homes in the capital by 2025.
The nighttime inauguration ceremony took place a day after DPRK founder Kim Il Sung’s birth anniversary, the country’s biggest holiday known as the Day of the Sun, and added to “the joy of the people” celebrating the occasion, Voice of Korea (VOK) reported Monday.
