Telephone scams are big business in DPRK-China border region, netting some $600M and likely funding weapons programs

North Korea may be supporting an organized crime ring in China by supplying it with voice phishing technology linked to over half-a-billion dollars in losses, a forthcoming U.N. report states.

Chinese national Hong Yong allegedly ran multiple voice phishing centers and bought voice phishing apps from a North Korean named Song Rim, the Panel of Experts (PoE) report states.
