North Korea fired one short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) eastward on Sunday morning, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
JCS said it detected the launch at around 11:05 a.m. local time from Tongchang-ri in the northwest of the country, and that the SRBM flew around 497 miles (800 km) before landing in the East Sea (Sea of Japan).
