South Korean foreign minister Park Jin called for international cooperation to address North Korea’s nuclear and missile development at the U.N. on Wednesday, meeting with the secretary-general and representatives of new Security Council (UNSC) members.
In talks with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Park said the international community must unite and send a clear message regarding the DPRK’s “provocations,” Seoul’s foreign ministry said in a press release Thursday. He also praised the U.N. chief’s calls for Pyongyang to abandon its “unlawful” nuclear weapons development and return to dialogue.
