North Korea tested a nuclear-capable “super-large multiple launch rocket system (MLRS)” early in the morning on New Year’s Day, according to state media, a day after leader Kim Jong Un joined a ceremony to hand over the “offensive” weapons to the military.
In a speech, Kim said the 30 new units of 600mm super-large MLRS can strike anywhere in South Korea and carry tactical nuclear warheads, the party daily Rodong Sinmun reported Sunday.
