A new South Korean army unit trained in drone warfare and other emerging technologies held its first joint drills with a U.S. brigade combat team near the inter-Korean border, not far from where at least five North Korean drones infiltrated ROK airspace late last month.
Some 800 soldiers from the ROK army’s TIGER brigade and the U.S. Army’s 2nd Infantry Division Stryker unit practiced attack and defense infantry scenarios on Friday, fighting against a mock enemy in Paju, just 10 miles (16 km) from the border.
