The U.S. and South Korea conducted joint air drills near the peninsula on Tuesday involving a U.S. B-52H strategic bomber and F-22 fighters, in line with Washington’s pledge to regularly deploy “strategic assets” to deter North Korean threats, according to Seoul’s defense ministry.
ROK F-35A stealth jets and F-15K fighters also participated in the training held southwest of Jeju Island within South Korea’s air defense identification zone, the ministry announced in a press release.
