The two MRBMs were detected between 11:13 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. KST at Tongchang-ri, North Phyongyan Province, and both traveled some 310 miles (500 km) before splashing into the water. The JCS reiterated that it is maintaining full preparedness while working alongside the U.S. to strengthen surveillance. Meanwhile, Japan’s defense ministry announced the two launches around 11:17 AM and 11:55 AM KST, adding in additional reports that the missiles appeared to have fallen already. © Korea Risk Group. North Korea fires two mid-range ballistic missiles toward East Sea: JCS

North Korea launched two medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBMs) toward the East Sea (Sea of Japan) on Sunday, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

The two MRBMs were detected between 11:13 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. KST at Tongchang-ri, North Phyongyan Province, and both traveled some 310 miles (500 km) before splashing into the water.

The JCS reiterated that it is maintaining full preparedness while working alongside the U.S. to strengthen surveillance.

Meanwhile, Japan’s defense ministry announced the two launches around 11:17 AM and 11:55 AM KST, adding in additional reports that the missiles appeared to have fallen already.
