North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) in an “eastward” direction, South Korea’s military said Friday morning.

An informed source in Pyongyang told NK News that they saw and heard a missile launch in the morning, suggesting that the launch took place from the capital’s Sunan airport. The launch could be heard indoors at a location several miles from the airport, according to the source.

Photos and videos taken from Pyongyang and seen by NK News also show a white contrail in the sky visible from the city.
