Unification minister Kwon Young-se proposed an inter-Korean meeting to discuss family reunions with the North ahead of Chuseok, one of South Korea’s biggest holidays.
“A number of separated families will spend the holiday filled with a sense of loneliness, yearning for their families and hometowns, Kwon said Thursday morning during an online briefing. “The South Korean government strongly urges the North to respond to our request at the earliest possible date.”
