South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol visited a wartime command post Thursday in connection with ongoing Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) military exercises, stressing the importance of updating wartime operation plans against evolving North Korean nuclear and missile threats.
Yoon’s visit was his first as president to the so-called B-1 bunker designated as a command post during times of conflict, according to Seoul’s presidential office, and followed the resumption of large-scale U.S.-ROK field training for the first time since 2018.
