Court previously ruled family should receive seized DPRK assets over son’s death following detention in North Korea

The parents of Otto Warmbier have awarded a high-profile North Korean defector a $15,000 scholarship to attend a top American university, months after a U.S. court awarded them hundreds of thousands of dollars in seized DPRK assets over their son’s death.

Seohyun Lee, the daughter of a former high-ranking North Korean official, confirmed her receipt of the scholarship to NK News on Saturday.
