North Korean leader Kim Jong Un kicked off a multi-day Central Military Commission (CMC) meeting on Tuesday to discuss “crucial strategic and tactical tasks” facing the country’s armed forces, according to state media.
The gathering of officials to discuss agenda items including “building up” the military and “summing up” defense policy execution this year came as the DPRK has ramped up weapons development and tested more missiles than ever before in the first half, including long-range ballistic missiles.
