Gavi ‘understands’ North Korea administering COVID-19 vaccines from China

Global vaccine alliance tells NK News that Beijing provided doses, without stating number or type of vaccines

Gavi “understands” that North Korea has accepted COVID-19 vaccines from China and started administering doses, the global vaccine alliance told NK News on Friday, without stating how many doses the DPRK has received or the vaccine type.

The development appears to mark the first time North Korea has inoculated its citizens against COVID-19, about a month after the country reported its first outbreak of the virus and adopted “maximum emergency” countermeasures.
