Tens of thousands of North Koreans gathered in the streets of Pyongyang despite a nationwide COVID-19 lockdown to participate in a state funeral for a former military official on Sunday, according to state media.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and top officials also attended the funeral for retired Korean People’s Army (KPA) Marshal Hyon Chol Hae, the Rodong Sinmun reported on Monday.
