North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is blaming officials at all levels for his country’s failure to stem an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, hinting at leadership purges at another politburo meeting on Tuesday, according to state media.
Convening a small meeting with his five politburo presidium officials and three other top officials, Kim positively assessed his government’s current response to the outbreak but said it still must “eradicate weak links and strengthen the health quarantine system,” the Rodong Sinmun reported Wednesday.
