G7 foreign ministers condemn North Korea for ‘yet another’ ICBM launch

Diplomats say DPRK determined to diversify nuclear capability, while voicing regret over veto of new UN sanctions

Foreign ministers of Group of Seven (G7) nations condemned North Korea on Monday for recently testing “yet another” intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), while expressing regret over the U.N. Security Council’s (UNSC) failure to adopt a resolution strengthening sanctions on Pyongyang.

The DPRK’s launch of an ICBM on May 25 “undermines international peace and security as well as the global non-proliferation regime,” the foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the U.K. the U.S. and the EU said in a joint statement.
