South Korea has entered the metaverse, launching a virtual recreation of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) where users can explore sites around the inter-Korean border that remain closed in the real world due to COVID-19.
The DMZ Metaverse, launched by South Korea’s unification ministry on Thursday, features digital museums, a cross-border observatory and the famous blue buildings at Panmunjom, where the leaders of the two Koreas once embraced each other and where Donald Trump took a few steps into North Korea.
