North Korean state television began broadcasting events from the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics on Wednesday afternoon for the first time since the Games began last week, despite the country being banned from participating.
The broadcast marked Korean Central Television's (KCTV) quickest turnaround for Olympics coverage in years. State television only began to air events from the 2021 Tokyo Summer Games after the closing ceremony and refrained entirely from showing the 2018 Winter Olympics held in South Korea.
