North Korea fired an "intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM)" from the Muphyong area of northwestern Jagang province toward the East Sea at 7:52 a.m. Sunday, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, as Pyongyang continues one of its most active sprees of weapons testing ever.
The missile flew a distance of 800 kilometers (497 miles) and reached an altitude of 2,000 km (1,242 miles), staying in the air for around 30 minutes, according to both the JCS and Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno.
