The United Nations Command (UNC) has issued a rare statement criticizing South Korean presidential candidate Yoon Suk-yeol after the conservative frontrunner donned a military uniform at the inter-Korean border earlier this week in violation of its dress code.
Yoon and his staff “did not comply” with the rules during “unauthorized” activities at a military outpost (OP) in the demilitarized zone (DMZ), undermined the armistice agreement and put civilians at unnecessary risk, according to the statement, which does not refer to the People Power Party presidential candidate by name.
